Tijdens uitgebreid onderzoek konden de auteurs, vaststellen dat de vaak gepubliceerde details in veel gevallen onjuist waren, zelfs waar de pelotons en zelfs individuele geweersecties van de mannen zich bevonden konden worden gecorrigeerd. Een groot aantal niet eerder gepubliceerde foto’s, waarvan sommige van de families, zijn gebruikt om te laten zien hoe de verhalen verband hielden met wat er werkelijk gebeurde en waar, en wie daarbij betrokken was. Het laat zelfs zien waar veel van deze dappere mannen zijn gevallen en waar ze nu begraven liggen

Based almost exclusively on the first-hand accounts of the men of the Company, the often-ignored supporting arms attached to the Company, and local residents that witnessed and recorded their thoughts at the time. This book considers the actions that took place initially at the village of Renkum and then at the Westerbouwing area in Oosterbeek. During extensive research, the authors, Nigel Simpson and Philip Reinders, were able to discern that the often-published details were in a lot of instances incorrect, even to where the Platoons, and even individual rifle sections of the men were positioned and so have been corrected. A large number of previously unpublished photographs, some of them of the families, have been used to help show how the accounts related to what actually happened and where, and who was involved in them. Even showing where many of these brave men fell, and where they are now buried.
